Steenrod began as Steenrod Elementary School from 1924-1995, was completely renovated in 1999, and is now Wheeling Jesuit's graduate student housing complex. This facility offers the convenience of being within a 5 minute walk of campus and managed by the university, but also offers the independence and environment to match graduate students' needs. Steenrod has a total of 20 apartments (with both single and double capacity options) and houses a total of 35 students. Each apartment has a full kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom for each resident, and comes fully furnished.
All apartments also have independent heating and air conditioning, ethernet web access, telephone services, cable television, unlimited laundry and convenient parking included at no additional cost.
All windows have mini-blinds.
Each apartment has a full kitchen with full sized refrigerator, stove and oven, cabinetry and a sink. Each apartment's living area has a couch, cushioned chair, television stand, coffee table, and dining table with four chairs. Each student has their own bedroom with a bed, nightstand, desk with chair, lamp, wardrobe and dresser.
Supplies to Bring
Extension cord, iron/ironing board, power strip, stereo, throw rug, dry erase board, masking tape, alarm clock, cleaning supplies, laundry basket, stackable crates, bed linens, posters to decorate, shower curtain (optional), tv, telephone, towels, hair dryer, hangers.
Washers and dryers available on the ground floor which is accessible by elevator and stairs from the 2nd and 3rd floors. Laundry services are provided for free to residents.
Each room has access to cable and telephone services. These services are provided as a part of the Housing Contract.
