Wheeling Jesuit University's annual giving campaign, "1,151 Reasons to Give," will feature different students over the next several months in a spotlight series. The students will have the opportunity to discuss why they chose to attend Wheeling Jesuit and what they have experienced during their time on campus. This series will also allow potential students, alumni, donors and the community to get to know the student body.

The two students highlighted are Lauren Thomas, class of 2021, and Keegan Forsythe, class of 2022.

Lauren Thomas

"The first time I heard about Wheeling Jesuit, from family and alumni, I knew it was the one school, more than any other, suited for my personality and academic endeavors. Not only that, but it was the ideal distance from my home in Charleston, West Virginia. When I first visited the University, the atmosphere was more than comforting and cordial, and, remarkably so, I immediately felt a sense of belonging. My favorite thing about Wheeling Jesuit is the people; they are exceptionally good-hearted, and every single student, professor and employee has a passion and a profound care for others. I knew I wanted to surround myself with good hearts and passionate minds as well as be in a place I could forever call home. I am eternally grateful for the opportunities and education I have been blessed with here, the relationships I have made and will continue to make and the abundant amount of love and wisdom I’m surrounded by every day. I can confidently say that there is no other place where my light shines quite like it does at Wheeling Jesuit."

Keegan Forsythe

"I am a biology major at Wheeling Jesuit, and my minor is undecided, but I'm very interested in psychology and chemistry. I'm from Pittsburgh, PA, and a big reason I made the journey to Wheeling, WV was to attend a small school. I enjoy being able to speak with my professors personally and develop working relationships with them. My favorite aspect of the University is meeting new people on campus and learning from them."
