Emergency Procedures
In the event of an emergency, first CALL 911 followed by CAMPUS SECURITY at 304-243-2486.In addition, notify the Health Center at 304-243-2275 if during normal business hours for follow-up purposes. If outside normal business hours, notify RA/AC. All RA/AC are certified in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR annually.
What is an emergency?
An emergency is any illness/injury that is acute and poses an immediate risk to a person's life- or long-term health. Examples include:
- Chest Pain
- Shortness of breath
- Unexplained severe abdominal pain
- Seizures
- Fainting
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Chemical burns or eye injuries
- Rape/Sexual Assault
- Alcohol/Drug Overdose
- Suicidal ideations or attempt
- Violent behavior
