Education: BA in History and Political Science (WJU Class of 2011), MS in Organizational Leadership (WJU Class of 2017)

Favorite Aspect of WJU: There are always faculty and staff looking out for your best interests. I was able to double major, edit the school newspaper, and participate in research projects - all at the urging of supportive faculty and staff. All of this happens within the context of Jesuit educational philosophy, which emphasizes academic rigor, the importance of individual students, and service with and among others.

Favorite Spot on Campus: Lundy Lounge - I always seem to bump into current students at this spot when I'm giving tours, and it makes me happy to see them enjoying their time at WJU.

Favorite Local Spot: Villani's Hoagie King in South Wheeling - Best hoagies in town.

Advice for Prospective Students: Don't be afraid to contact your admissions representative with questions or concerns. We love talking about WJU and we are always ready to help students through their college search.

Get to Know Me!

Hometown: Wooster, OH

Family: My wife, Sarah (WJU Class of 2013), and two cats, Sweet Pea & Apollo.

Three Words to Describe Yourself: Dedicated, Thoughtful, Passionate

Favorite Academic Subjects: History, Political Science, and - broadly speaking - the ways in which cities can attract and retain population (through planning, education, economic development, etc.)

Hobbies: Tending to my houseplants and teaching my cats to play fetch. I'm also not sure if this is considered a hobby, but I serve Wheeling as a member of the Historic Landmarks Commission.

Most Prized Possession: I own an original seat from WesBanco Arena that my friend, artist Jeff Forster, mounted to be used as a functioning chair.

Favorite Seasonal Activities:
Spring: Walking and, increasingly, biking around Wheeling's Heritage Trail System!
Summer: Attending Wheeling's many summer festivals and events - Challenge Wheeling is a favorite of mine.
Fall: Driving West Virginia's back roads (usually on the way to a college fair) and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Winter: Reconnecting with friends and family during the holidays.

Favorite Quote: "There are some people who have charm and some people who don't. Guess which type I am. Charm type." - Kevin Malone

Favorite Book: This is a tough call, but probably The Hard Way on Purpose: Essays and Dispatches from the Rust Belt by David Giffels.

Favorite Movie: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. It's a classic comedy that also exudes warmth and humanity.
