What can you do with a degree in Respiratory Therapy?

Graduates of Wheeling Jesuit's respiratory therapy program are respected and caring clinicians who are in demand in health care facilities throughout the country. In fact, recruiters from nationally recognized hospitals regularly travel to Wheeling Jesuit to interview graduating seniors. Many of our graduates are now professors in respiratory therapy, are department managers or directors, and even have earned national honors in the field.

If you are considering a graduate degree, Wheeling Jesuit's respiratory therapy program provides a solid foundation for advanced study. You can build on your undergraduate degree and study to become a physical therapist, physician's assistant, perfusionist, certified anesthesia technician, a medical doctor or go on and complete a master's or doctorate degree. The average age of most managers and educators in the profession is the mid-50s. Many of them will seek retirement in the next decade.
