In compliment to a liberal-arts core curriculum course of study, the WJU film program introduces students to all aspects of the filmmaking process (development, pre-production, production, post-production, and distribution), emphasizing the centrality of story and storytelling to human experience and to successful filmmaking. The curriculum also gives substantial time and attention to film studies, examining classic and contemporary films as models of cinematic art and exploring various modes of cinematic rhetoric.

Requirements for the Film Studies Minor

To satisfy the University's core curriculum requirements in this discipline and earn the minor, a student must complete the following courses:

  • FLM 170
  • FLM 175
Two additional Film Studies electives
  • FLM 250
  • FLM 351
