- Joe Brumble attended Randolph-Macon College, in Ashland, Va, and graduated with a BA in English in 1968. After service in the U.S. Army, he earned his MA in English at Old Dominion University, where he subsequently taught as a member of the English Department. He earned his Ph.D. in English from the University of Delaware, specializing in the British Romantic and Victorian writers (poetry in particular), and has been a member of the WJU English Department since 1981. Chair of the department for 13 years, he is a past-President of the West Virginia Association of College English Teachers. Dr. Brumble takes delight in introducing students to the wonders of the poetry of John Keats (and others). He likes sailing in the summer, skiing in the winter, is a relatively capable carpenter/woodworker, and enjoys renovating houses.
