Possible Careers

As a communications specialist, you can work in advertising, publications, broadcast or online media, research and development, human resources, sales and marketing, and in corporate training departments. You can do contract work as a freelancer, for a consulting or public relations firm, in the Foreign Service, in all three branches of government, in labor unions, non-profit organizations, in the medical services field, and at colleges, universities, technical and vocational schools.

Moreover, a Professional Communications degree can be coupled with other interests to create an educational portfolio suitable for graduate work in multiple disciplines such as law, business, social work, psychology and education.

As a communications generalist, you will be well-equipped to pursue graduate study in fields like journalism, public relations, communications, and other social science areas as well as enter into careers in sales, retail, and business.
