WHEELING, W.Va., May 22, 2017 - Wheeling Jesuit University alumni from the 2017 reunion classes have selected 11 of their peers or mentors for induction into the Hall of Honor during Alumni Weekend, set for June 23-25.
Created by the university's Alumni Council, the Hall of Honor (HOH) provides alumni with a voice to recognize former classmates, faculty and staff for their contributions to their profession, society and the greater WJU community. This year's inductees are:
Kathy Oliver Burgoyne - Class of 1962
Tim Daly - Class of 1967
Paula Scott Felt - Class of 1972
Gary Fitzsimmons - Class of 1977
Sharon Wong - Class of 1982
Chris Searl - Class of 1987
Keri Alexander Luchowski - Class of 1992
Kip Comack - Class of 1997
Martha Bowman Pullins - Class of 2002
Katie Hine - Class of 2007
Jake Lucas - Class of 2012
The 2017 Hall of Honor induction marks the eighth year each anniversary class has had the opportunity to nominate and induct one person. While WJU has several awards given to alumni, only those graduates celebrating a reunion determine the selection of Hall of Honor inductees.
“I would like to congratulate all of the 2017 Hall of Honor winners. This year's HOH class has representatives from business, education, social services, research, health care and public service. We look forward to honoring each of these deserving individuals during Alumni Weekend,” said Pat Gannon '72, president of Alumni Council.
Members of the Hall of Honor will be recognized at the President's Dinner during Alumni Weekend 2017. The names of this year's HOH class will be placed on the monument located outside of Swint Hall.
