WHEELING, W.Va., Nov. 3, 2015 Wheeling Jesuit University recently awarded scholarships totaling more than $13,000 to a number of current students.
The Thomas F. Carrigan Alumni Scholarship was established by the WJU Alumni Association in memory of alumnus and first alumni director, Tom Carrigan. Alumni children or grandchildren with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 who display compassion, commitment and a work ethic which involves genuine friendship and loyalty are eligible for consideration.

Ryan McCann, Senior, Frostburg, Md., Athletic Training
Cole Roberts, Junior, Follansbee, W.Va., Engineering Science
The Sally Bodkin Memorial Music Ministry Scholarship is based on a competitive audition for students with liturgical music experience and was established in honor of a WJU alumna from the class of 1969.
Awarded the Sally Bodkin Memorial Music Ministry Scholarship is:
Jacob Henley, Freshman, St. Albans, W.Va., Theology and Psychology
William and Col. Carol Yarnall Scholarship is awarded to a student(s) that is in need of financial assistance, that maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and who is from the following areas: first preference West Virginia, second preference Ohio, and third preference - Kentucky.
The recipient of the William and Col. Carol Yarnell Scholarship is:
Anne LaFollette, Junior, Woodsfield, Ohio, Respiratory Therapy
The WJU Class of 1974 Scholarship was created to benefit a student that is a child, grandchild, niece, or nephew of a member of the class of 1974. Recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
